Azakaranj Neem Oil – EPA Approved
Azakaranj is a product that will rid areas and plants of certain insects using a natural environment-friendly approach. Azakarnj will kill or cause certain insects to leave the area because it causes them to lose appetites and makes them not want to lay eggs in the treated area.
AZAKARANJ, an oil based emulsified concentrate formulation (110% EC) consisting of a judicious mixture of neem oil obtained from Azadirachta Indica seeds and surfactant/emulsifier. The action is due to the presence of several neem limonoids of which Azadirachtin is most important. Azadirachtin concentration is maintained at a level of ~ 2200 ppm in the forrmulation. A very wide spectrum of phytophagous insect pests is likely to find this formulation undesirable. The formulation relieves the pest population by multiple action activity of feeding deterrence and ovipositor inhibitions as: First as an anti-feedant, it is quite strong because when the incsect injest the neem treated material, they lose their appetite. Hence the insect will prefer not to eat any longer on the treated surface. Second, Azakaranj is undesirable for insects and they will leave the area, therefor they will not injest the treated crop and not lay eggs in the farm. As a result the population of insects is greatly reduced. It repels aphids, thirps, plant hoppers, white flies, caterpillar, fruit borer, leaf miner, jassids and many other pests.
AZAKARANJ gives the best results when used as a preventive. Monitor the field continuously for pest attack. When the population is low or when the damage symptoms just begin to appear, apply AZAKARANJ at 4 ml per liter of water and spray it in such a way that it covers whole grass canopy or foliage. AZAKARANJ gives protection for 10 – 15 days. However, continuous monitoring is essential. Subsequent sprays should be applied as and when necessary.
